a lame recap of whats on during the Holy Month of Syawal
Of Prayers and Open Houses on the 1st day of Syawal
Eid prayers on the morning of victorious celebration, at Malaysia Trade Centre, Lamcy Plaza. The only place in Sheikhs-land where you could hear the Khutbah in Bahasa Melayu. Gracefully organised by Malaysian-UAE community
Then, we blasted off to a marathon of open houses. First up is Syawal-Hafizah open house at the nearby Art 2 Apartment. The usual suspects of raye delicacies are all there for grabs.
Spend quite some time there before proceed to the next victim: Wan Azmi/Ishak/Firdaus Open House at Oriental Apartment. Me and a few friends decided to go there by foot, and with our full baju Melayu attire i could say that we were quite the attention of the road commuters and passers-by. No tragic accidents were reported though.
Went back to my place for Faridz/Nana/Kak Laily open house, their unit is located on the 4th floor (mine 5th). A huge mob presence has significantly create a tremors on the floor slab
My housemates who couldn't make it on the morning, went to pay a visit on the afternoon instead, and me with my 9-inch muke tebal couldn't resist to tag along for a second melantak session

TAK Raya Open House
The event was organised by the management for staffs and family. Part of the Nad Al Sheba site office was turned into a hall of Hari Raye xtravaganza and ampun maaf clowning act.
Along with Mr Nizar (my boss), Mr TAK himself was there at the hall main entrance to greet everybody who came in droves (...for duit raye)
Apart from the usual makan2 till you drop, a karaoke competition was shamelessly organised. Brave contestants were lined up and embarrassed one after another.
Actually, a few of them managed to elevate the hall's roof with their vocal prowess. Najdi, for example, was in different class. His rendition of Scorpion's 'Still Loving You' was sublimely delivered. It is safe to say that the job of Klaus Meine, the Scorpion vocalist, is now in huge jeorpardy
Cityscape Dubai was an annual real estate, architecture, urban planning and design exhibition which was held from 5th to 8th October at Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
