congratulations...

...to newlywed couple Architect Kamil and Architect Munyra

They went back home to Malaysia to tie the knot and then hold a small wedding reception at the Boss' villa in Jumeirah, Dubai for friends and colleagues here.
All the best and hopefully they would design many beautiful children soon

An  8-vehicle convoy participated in a 2-hour journey to Raub to celebrate the wedding of Kechik and his Bride Azita.

With some of us getting lost somewhere down the road, all were finally there at 4.45pm  when  the guests were long gone, but thankfully the radiant couple and the nasi minyak waited patiently for our arrival

Wedding PokYa01Wedding PokYa02Wedding Pokya03

Pokya, my A-Level-mate tied the knot at the bride's home at Kampung Baru last Sunday.

Apart from the colorful reception, what was nice about the event was the presence of the A-Level black ol years contigent (Awang, Amir, Mat Yus, Senyum,Saryono&family, Nizam K&family, Sedi&family), among of whom i haven't met for quite some time.

It should be more meaningful if only Zawiyah Laidin and Mama Bosan could join us....

Wedding 4: Aidil aka Taoke & Syaibatul (Sungai Penchala, Damansara)

From Kg Baru, i shoot to Sungai Penchala to attend the wedding of my Studio-mate Encik Aidil aka Tokey.  Catching up on ol times with my A-level mates earlier, I arrived there quite late.

Tokey was in jovial mood, he even forced me to try the Minang Bakso instead of the predictable nasi minyak...heheh...Congrats bro!
Some of these pix is courtesy of Rehot, who arrived earlier.

a salute to a friend + eid mubarak roundup

A salute to a friend
Our good friend from the A-Level years, DINO, who works in London, went
back to Bolehland for a short festive holiday recently.  For old time
sake, we went for a jam session at Black Widow, a studio where we frequently hang-out during the black A-Level days back in the late 90s.
This flyer was handed-out to all the participants of the ongoing UMNO assembly:

The reunion showcased members of the 'most-beloved-but-now-defunct' A-Levels punkrock bands, MAMAK(vocals&guitar) and DINO himself(bass) of Psycho Duke with AKHTAR(guitar) of SBP.  Rounding up the quartet was JOKER as the guest drummer, back hitting the skins after a 4-year(!) hiatus.

Back then, both Psycho Duke and SBP has released a demo and contributed a song each in the 'critically-acclaimed' Shah Alam Underground Scene Complilation...but then Siti Nurhaliza came to prominent.  She whitewashed the music scene. Everyone else in the industry was irrelevant.

So this is the reunion lineup:
ACIP, SEDI, SCOTT, KECHIQUE and mie were there too as busybodies

DINO told me that they were xtremely honoured to cover the Fiona song.  We agreed that 4U2C is the most talented band Bolehland has ever produced, maybe on par with kumpulan IMPRESSION.
They went on to cover 'Roots Radical', a song by an unknown Californian East-Bay band RANCID.
Check out the clip below:

The reunion  was also an excuse for some of these people  to wind-up because apparently they have their own hidden agenda:
1. This week is AKHTAR's final days as a bachelor.  He is getting married this weekend. (finally, 'city jeans' can be laid to rest)
2. KECHIQUE too is in his final phase as a KJL* member.  He will get married next weekend. (i post about it earlier here)
3.  JOKER was celebrating his birthday that nite. (sorry bro. you're old...haha

Before all the crap above, a full scale re-bonding session with DINO ensured
