Dillinger Four- C I V I L W A R

I threw this gem on the pod one Saturday evening and basically have not listen to anything else since.  A great record with contagious hooks, awesome melodies and humorous political, angst fuelled lyrics that so many punk bands tend to omit from their formula nowadays

C I V I L W A R is a 6 year in the making full-length release from Minnesota's punk rock fav, Dillinger Four. Its kinda a healthy new dose
of oxygen for me. Explodes right from the start and never halts in giving prescriptions of punk wisdom and sarcastic rhetoric from the opener 'A Jingle for the product' to the closer 'Clown Cars on Cinder Blocks'. 13 tracks full of melodic anthems, it's a record
that moves along swiftly full of chaotic energy.

For those of us looking for the new soundtrack to turn to in times of dire consequences and broken souls, C I V I L W A R just might be the right cure. This record ranks very high on my best of 2008 list.

(stream these 3 MP3 below: 'A jingle for the product', 'Gainesville', 'Minimum wage is a gateway drug')

01 - A Jingle For the Product

04 - Gainesville

06 - Minimum Wage Is A Gateway Drug

Sometimes, a casual search on YouTube yields a total heist. That's how I felt when stumbled across this 41
minute Nirvana set from 1991, apparently recorded at a venue called the
Moon in New Haven, Connecticut, and already viewed some 350,000 times.

Many of us never got to see the trio in their early 90s exemplary form; therefore this clip is absolutely worth 41 minutes of
your golden time. Stream this vintage Nirvana now, before Courtney Love gets her mitts on it and starts charging you by the minute

NIRVANA- live at The Moon, Connecticut; 1991

(Setlist: Jesus dont want me for a sunbeam, Here she comes now, Aneurysm, Drain you, School, Floyd the Barber, About a girl, Love Buzz, Smells like teen spirit, Breed, Polly)

btw, not sure why, but on 9th April 1994 my hi skool flag was half-masted

Nirvana's Nevermind is always no. 1. Then only Napalm Death's Scum.
