Everybody was geared for an action-filled wet race. but the rain never came, much to the disappointment of many.

The race, now in its 10th edition, saw the highest no of crowd presence, a carnival-like atmosphere from end to end.

After the season opener in Australia, Ferrari, McLaren and BMW were very much in battle royale for World Championship here in Sepang.

After their Australian nightmare, world champs Ferrari was very much in command with Kimi Raikkonen in dominating form. That was not the case for teammate Felipe Massa though, who spunned out of the race. Rival McLaren were unable to take full advantage, largely due to their qualifying grid penalties. Heikke Kovalainnen and Lewis Hamilton took home 3rd and 5th place respectively. The worry for both squads was BMW Sauber, who claimed second place and the fastest lap at their 'home race' with Robert Kubica, and Nick Heidfeld in 6th (read summary about spunx F1 8002 here)
